Will suit those who love hill-walking, exploring forests and mountains.
A wonderful base for touring the sights and sites of the Garfagnana and Media Valle del Serchio.
Perhaps best of all for just "dropping out". With the hot tub on the terrace, and the comfortable rooms and lovely common spaces to sit and read, or just sit and chat, La Fagiana can be the best place to escape the everyday and soothe the spirit.
Near to Bagni di Lucca and to Lucca, convenient for day-trips to the big tourist centres of Florence, Pistoia, Pisa etc.
A charming village ambience. A hint of how life was in past times.
High enough to avoid the worst of the summer heat -- it is wonderful to return to Tereglio after sweltering in Lucca or Florence!
Convenient to the ski resorts at Abetone and the water activities in the Lima valley.

La Fagiana is in the middle of a village with car access only to the ends. The walk from the carpark at the northeast end is about 400m. While the road at the southwest is only about 200m, it is a steep climb to walk up, and a part of the road is stepped. Even the restaurant cannot be reached without negotiating the stepped section of road. In short, Tereglio is extremely charming but inconvenient for people with mobility problems. The house is on three floors. The stairs have iron railings, but it is very open to the void of the atrium space.
