For those wanting to incorporate some ski activity into their winter break, the main Appennine ski centre of Abetone is just the other side of the mountains. You have to drive around the mountain to get there, but the journey is around an hour, so Tereglio can be an ideal base – giving easy access as it does to the rest of the attractions of the Garfagnana.
